Hitachi Europe will co-ordinate the new eCo-FEV project, commencing on September 1st, which will seek to integrate ICT and charging infrastructure and could lead to the development of a platform that could not only manage the charging of EVs, but also optimize traffic routes, devise charging strategies to balance the grid and may even offer automated driving and charging while driving.

The number will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 26.4% from 2012 to 2018. And Chinese market will lead this growth spurt. North America will enjoy a rebound in a few years when the economy stables. While sales of electric drive buses in Western Europe should see steady growth.
