Battery Tests Ignite Market
Last month, a fleet of electric taxis took to the road in Tokyo, powered by rechargeable electric batteries. Later this year, Mitsubishi will deliver its first electric cars to Australia. Then next year, a network of battery-switching stations and battery-charging spots will be rolled out in Canberra before a planned expansion in other capital cities. "[Electric cars] are coming and coming quickly," says Anthony Pascoe of Lend Lease Ventures. The challenge for Australian investors is finding a way to profit from emission-free vehicles.
