Better Place and The Eldan Group Sign Agreement to Lease and Rent Hundreds of Electric Cars

December 5, 2011

Tel Aviv, IL--(December 5, 2011)Better Place and the Eldan Group, the largest car rental company in Israel, today announced that they signed an agreement to lease and rent hundreds of electric cars. Under the agreement, Eldan will acquire hundreds of Renault Fluence Z.E. electric cars from Better Place in 2012.

Eldan is responding to customer demand for electric cars and joining the global green trend. It will be the first to offer its customers the opportunity to rent electric cars in Israel.

In addition, the company plans to launch a complimentary service package for customers who rent a Better Place electric car, including more attractive monthly subscription packages, discounted rates on daily rentals, and tours of the Better Place Center. These benefits are intended to encourage drivers to experience electric cars and introduce customers to the new technology.

In the coming months, Eldan will begin marketing electric cars to companies and private customers, in advance of the first electric cars arriving in Israel.

Under the agreement, a leasing customer who selects an electric car will sign a leasing agreement for the car with Eldan and will also sign up for a membership package with Better Place.

Better Place’s infrastructure, which includes Charge Spots, Battery Switch Stations and Customer Care, together with the nationwide Eldan service centers, will provide a comprehensive solution for customers.

Shai Dahan, co-CEO of Eldan, said:"Eldan and Better Place are both companies that have grown in the Israeli market and are leaders in their industry. It is only natural that we work together. We are pleased to be the first company to offer drivers the opportunity to enjoy a new driving experience, and we call upon other companies to join the green trend with us."

Moshe Kaplinsky, CEO, Better Place Israel, commented:"The agreement with Eldan enhances Better Place's position in the Israeli market. Eldan and Better Place will provide customers with a comprehensive service package, which will provide an exceptional driving experience. I am convinced that the expected demand from companies that have already expressed their commitment to switch to electric cars by signing agreements with us will be strong and I am pleased that Eldan has identified this market demand."
